About Peter Handy

Peter Handy is President & CEO of Bristol Seafood, a processor and distributor known for its uncompromising Maine standards and commitment to quality, transparency, and integrity. Bristol is the first company in the United States to earn a Fair Trade certification for seafood, and also holds certifications for sustainability and food safety.

In addition to his role at Bristol, he is on the board of the National Fisheries Institute, the advisory boards of Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences and the New England Ocean Cluster, and the investment committee of the University of Maine System.

Prior to joining Bristol, Peter founded, ran and sold BoxMyDorm.com, a national storage and shipping company for college students. In addition, he worked in financial services at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Sanford Bernstein & Co. in roles ranging from asset management to institutional trading. Peter is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Chartered Financial Analyst, a pilot, and a fly fisherman. He lives in Yarmouth, Maine with his wife and two daughters.
