Industry Partnerships and Agreements

Under the Office of Research Commercialization and Applications, the Laboratory has formalized a series of business agreements with the private sector. These agreements are designed to streamline the process for corporate sponsorship of Bigelow-based research projects and to facilitate the commercialization of the Laboratoryís discoveries.

Long-term Master Professional Research Services Agreements are now in place with Fluid Imaging Technologies, Inc., in Yarmouth, Maine. BioProcess Algae, LLC in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and Zivo Bioscience in Phoenix, Arizona.

Exclusive Technology License Agreements have been signed with Satlantic, Inc., in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Kennebec River Biosciences in Richmond, Maine.

Building a Bridge Between Discovery Science and Commercialization Partners

The Industrial Collaboration Laboratory (ICL), is a 550 square-foot, glass-enclosed ìshowcaseî laboratory (with 180 square-feet of associated office space) that is available for entrepreneurial activities both within and outside of Bigelow Laboratory, fostering collaboration with the private sector and facilitating partnerships with companies in the pharmaceutical, aquaculture, environmental/bioremediation, analytical instrument, and biofuels industries.
